Providence Canyon State Park
Who knew that just 5 hours away from Hilton Head, in Georgia, there were such stunning geological formations?! Well I didn’t know!
A quick Google search of “Cool Places to Visit in Georgia” led Ray and I to visit Providence Canyon State Park! We wanted to have a quick getaway from Hilton Head as you know, we don’t travel enough, lol… But really we don’t like to stay in one place for too long and we wanted to take a little road trip with the van but didn’t want to go to far. So anyway we created a little itinerary of places to go in the south all not too far from Hilton Head just a few Cypress Swamps and this awesome Canyon! This was the first stop and it was truly stunning. (Click to see photos full size)
You could hike all around the canyon and also down in the canyon. It was really awesome and unique. It felt like we were out west. I would recommend getting out early before the crowds show up, as in any beautiful place really.
We had a great time here, and even did some bird photography, shocker! Found some Northern Parulas in some beautiful Wisteria.
