Florida’s Forgotten Coast

The next stop on our January 2023 road trip was to Florida’s Forgotten Coast. At this point it had been only a few weeks since I had left my job of five years at Wells Fargo and it didn’t really feel like I was traveling full time yet. It was a strange feeling to be 29 and not working full time, or part time, but my mom encouraged me while I had savings, and had the opportunity to travel with Ray, to do it. Life is short, as we are way too well aware. My father, Peter Edward Vairo passed away unexpectedly at 62. Just about a year after his passing, my mom encouraged me to live like him, live life to the fullest, and that’s what I’ve been doing ever since!!!

So on January 9th 2023 we ended up on Florida’s Forgotten Coast, and man I don’t know why it has been forgotten because it surely is beautiful!!! We stumbled upon this beach with driftwood and hardly any visitors besides ourselves. It was so lovely. We spent at least one sunset and one sunrise photographing shorebirds out there and having an absolute blast. (Click to see photos full size)
